So here are the open spots for these weeks. We need A LOT of help during Week 9!! It will be busy, and we have open spaces just about every day:

Changing Your Schedule

For those of you who did not get the email--

For these days:

Saturday July 31
Sunday August 1

Thursday August 5
Friday August 6
Saturday August 7
Sunday August 8

DO NOT email me with your changes in schedule on these days. Instead call 703-737-8105. This is the number for the Children's desk across from where you sit to volunteer.

Any other day, it should be okay to email me.

If you have any questions, call the library at 703-737-8100.

Permanent Spots Open!

Hello, everyone! We have a few permanent spots that are open if you would like to switch days.

Open Permanent Spots:
3-5 shift Saturdays-- very much needed: last Saturday we had no one on the desk!
5-7 on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday

The Fun Stuff

Hey all of you who are looking for experience (or fun) working with little kids... we need some help for these great programs! Sign-ups are in the workroom where you all first come in.

Here is a message from Mr. Tony about the times and days when we need help:

Thursday, July 15: “Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed” It begins at 2:00 PM, but I’ll need volunteers to assist at 1:30 PM and stay until 3:00 at the least. No one has signed up for this program yet.

Friday, July 16: “Math 123” Begins at 1:00 PM, but I need volunteers at 12:30 PM and have them stay until at least 2:00 PM. I’d like at least TWO more volunteers.

Friday, July 23: “Science 123” Begins at 3:00 PM, but I need assistance by 2:30 PM and have them stay until at least 4:00 PM. I need ONE more for this program.

Volunteer Party!

August 17th will be the volunteer party! I will send out an email about this later because you will need to sign up. I want to make sure I can get enough pizza!

Hello, everyone! First, I want to say-- what a GREAT job everyone did on June 19th! It was the first day of the Summer Reading Program, but you all were totally calm and handled it really well.

We need some extra help this coming Monday:

Monday June 21: 10-12:30 (FILLED)
Monday June 21: 5-7 (FILLED)

We only need one person for each slot, so whoever emails me first gets the time they want!

VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION

Orientations will be:

Saturday, June 12 at 11:00 AM

or

Tuesday, June 15 at 5:00 PM

You absolutely must come to one of these orientations in order to volunteer! You do not have to go to both. Orientation will be about an hour and a half long.
